Microsoft Excel does open CSV files; however, it can cause some layout issues. Other software, such as LibreOffice or Google Sheets, displays CSV correctly.
If you prefer to use Excel, you can resolve the formatting using either of the methods below.
Method 1: Use Text to Columns functionality
Open the CSV file in Excel Highlight column A (click the letter 'A' at the top of the column).
Click on the Data tab.
Click on Text to Columns.
Select Delimited and click Next.
Tick the box for the correct delimiter (usually Comma or Semicolon) until the data preview separates into neat columns.
Click Finish.
Method 2: Import from Text/CSV
- Open Excel
- Click "Blank workbook"
- Click on the "Data" tab
- Click on "From Text/CSV"
- Select the CSV file you have downloaded from the portal
- Click load
