Will the data of the labels be publicly available?

Yes, EASA will publish a machine-readable data file (Public CSV) which contains all the active labels. It contains all the information required by legislation to display verified flight emissions at the point of sale, whilst omitting commercially sensitive underlying operational data.
The Flight Emissions Label is a voluntary regulation. Consequently, the Public CSV will only contain labels for aircraft operators that have opted in to the scheme and requested labels.

Data Location and Structure

  • Single consolidated file: All issued labels across all participating aircraft operators are published together in one consolidated CSV file, rather than separate files per aircraft  operator.
  • Public access URL: The file is publicly available at https://files.flightemissions.eu/prod/labels.csv.
  • Dummy data for testing: A file populated with dummy data is currently hosted at the production URL above so technical teams can test their integrations. The exact same URL and schema format will be used when actual labels are published.

Update Schedule and Retrieval Method

EASA follows the schedule set out in the Annex to the Flight Emissions Label regulation (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/3170), which states that EASA shall distribute the labels by 30 June each year.

  • Daily updates: The Public CSV is updated automatically every night at 02:00 AM UTC. Any new label issuances or label withdrawals approved on the EASA Sustainability Portal take effect in the public dataset during this nightly refresh.
  • Active labels only (no historical look-ups): The Public CSV is overwritten nightly and only contains currently valid, active labels. Withdrawn labels are removed during the nightly update, and earlier label versions are superseded by newer versions. EASA does not publish an archive of older CSV files for historical look-ups.
  • Retrieval method: EASA does not support automated push delivery, scheduled file transfers, or custom API endpoints. Data must be retrieved by fetching the public CSV directly from the permanent link.

More information and communication

More information on the data fields of the Public CSV can be found in the sections "Public CSV use guide" and "Public CSV developer guide" of the FEL Manual.

If a major change or schema update is introduced to the Public CSV that could affect existing integrations, EASA will communicate this upfront. We strongly advise all data integrators to subscribe to the newsletter at https://www.flightemissions.eu/en#stayuptodate.
